Its been a long time between drinks...

But I have been doing some bits 'n' pieces just no major productions..

This is a wedding card I made for a friend to give her neice... and the matching box envelope...

I seem to have accumulated many left overs and bits half done, or pictures coloured in with no cards to go on

so i have set myself the task of using up my ever growing leftover box

here are some of the results.....

some were batch lots for work and some for the home stash...

and man did I make a mess in my little hidy hole

Late last year Alisa from De-signs Made by Me came to Sydney for the paper craft show,

these are a few cards I made for her display of projects made by her customers using a digital die cutter.... my Gazelle)

My darling little nephew turned one...

a couple of wedding cards.... cant remember for whom....

hmmmm, not sure what this one was for...

a wedding card for the son of my parents neighbour...

hey, something constructive....

some window signage for the new office in St Marys....

my gazelle was my best friend this night... not too sure about my future in sign writing tho, it was really painful to get it on the board just right.

Think that brings me up to date, hhhmmmm, maybe not so, but I cant find the photos of the other stuff so this will do for now

You would be very proud of me Alisa, I did lots of this card on my Gazelle, even the writing was

done using the pen tool.

The general layout came from the Australian Cardmaking mag.

Shame I need to give it away, otherwise you could use it for the show..... I might get around

to making some for you and just put them away!

not sure which one does it more justice the black or white background, but you can see my 'Zelle in the reflection of the black one!

Mum & Dads Anniversary

Am really loving these step cards at the moment, here is another one I did for my parents wedding anniversary today!

Being able to make my own flowers to match the project is an added bonus, and I am finding them quiet relaxing to make...... almost as relaxing as colouring with copics!

I have just spent the day crafting with Penny, and she brought her copic markers with her for me to try out to see how I liked using them........
She was a very nice little girl and shared them with me without too much of a fuss...
I printed off an A4 page of various images and had a very relaxing and enjoyable day colouring in!

The only problem now, is that I have to have them!

This is one of the images I coloured... was actually the first and the most simple... will have to get around to making up cards for the others soon.

I am not to sure about my version of these flowers though.... I am certain the ones in the file example looked much different to mine. Oh well, they will do the job

Quick and simple for work

I had a go at playing with colouring a digital image in DSA2 this week,

I needed to print off multiple images to use in bulk lots of cards.

It wasn't that easy to control the brush, I am sure there is a better way of doing this than how I did it, but that is a lesson for another day!

The first 2 cards are done in DSA2, the last (the sunflower) I colured by hand, some with prisma pencils and some with Penny's precious copic markers!

Time has been my enemy lately.... so has this stupid cold, if I have managed some time out I seem to fall asleep!

Here is a quick update of cards I have managed to get done..... most just in the nick of time to post out...

lets start with the most recent...

card for my dad today for fathers day...

Last week was one of the girlfriends dads 50th

21sts.... think I am getting tooooo old for these now, however 21party we did.

the young girl from work had the honour of becoming a growed up....

My baby turned 11 last week

and requested a cupcake cake.......

found a plain white disposable cardboard cake holder at spotlight and then attacked it with stamps and inks

covered it in contact and presto a reusable disposable cake tree...

I discovered that I really enjoyed decorating the cupcakes, so my macho tuff boy is also getting them for his cake in a couple of weeks... decided that the pretty girly ones are the most fun... so you lucked out tough boy!

I went away to craft camp last month for a weekend.... and man was that a great weekend. I actually achieved quiet a bit.

I went with the plan of working on my wedding album, so really had no intention of making cards at all, however I did need to make a couple for that coming week, and just for the fun of it I went along with the little challenges set for the weekend and entered the 2 that I made...

this one for the youngest ones little girlfriend

and this one for my sister-in-laws birthday.

What amazed me the most is that I won second prize for both of them......

and lastly my brothers birthday card...

When I get them photographed I will put up the pages I got finished for my wedding album.

Card Patterns Sketch

Browsing through the web this morning looking for my mo-jo (it seems to be missing in action), I came across the Card Patterns Weekly Sketch, and as I needed to make a birthday card for one of the ladies I work with I set about to do both!

I am attributing the length of time it took to make to the missing mo-jo, but I'm happy with the end result.

Oh Boy! Not sure if I am ready for my boys to have girlfriends.... but girlfriends they have.... all 3 of them....
and all of them seem to have birthdays at roughly the same time, so off to the plaza I went the other night with 2 reluctant teenagers and one excited pre-teen.... all 3 came home with a bracelet for their girl....
then I started on the cards..... well, one card started and finished the others on the "to do" list.

So very unmotivated to do anything last night I was sitting here procrastinating when Penny sent me a link to watch a few "how to" video clips from a great site called Stamp TV, amazing how watching someone else crafting can get you moving again.....

little bit by very little bit I am learning some of the functions of DSA2...... not to rush these things.... this card is a combination of DSA, nestabilities, a bit of inking and the use of the bow easy...

WHHHOOOOPPPPEEEE

I have finally finished scrapping the photos from my birthday party....(of nearly 12 months ago)

What a marathon of a day, 5 pages completed, one bathroom scrubbed floors swept, dishes done, footy training (bbrrrr - sure it was snowing somewhere nearby), cheated on dinner - Nik makes a mean pizza in the kitchen where he works..... (thanks mate).... and finally photos done and blog updated.... man I wish I drank at times could now would be the right time for one!

My boys all wanted these hats to wear for the night of my party, and were parading them for me on the morning of my birthday - somehow I missed a photo of the youngest one, but they did look great all dressed and ready to go on the night.

And last but not least.... my good friend Mel.....

Having invested in an a3 printer I am now able to design some of my stuff on the computer and run it thru the printer... beats not being able to find the right paper you want, or having to use your own yucky hand writing....

I have been having a bit of a reshuffle and tidy up in my craft room.... trying to get things in the most practical and easily accessible place.... mind you I still have an embarrassingly big pile of stamps to mount on EZ mount and sort into their right folders and a few of the cupboards need a tidy out but you know the saying ...... all good things come to those who wait ..... so why not wait for those yucky jobs....

This is my little baby's corner, he is now safely tucked away so he cant be stepped or rolled on... (isn't he gorgeous)

When we converted the garage to a music room for the various noise machines the boys have, I nabbed a corner for storage...

Hubby couldn't understand why I wanted this wall lined with MDF instead of gyprock... that was until I started drilling holes....

Its also where I do my ironing.....

So I had best get stared on this lot...... no crafting tonight.... or tomorrow for that matter, my girlfriends 2 younger boys are getting confirmed in the morning, so its out the door early for us.

60th Wedding Anniversary

Good friends of my parents are about to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary and my mum asked me to make a card for her. I have been looking and thinking for just the right ideas and then Pam from the funtimesoftware yahoo group posted a wonderful card which gave me the inspiration to make this...

Martha Stewart punches (garden trellis & gothic arches) along the sides, ran the background thru the cuttlebug embosser - not sure of the name - hate it when I forget to label things as I unpack them.... and of course nestabilities for the ovals.

Penny and I had a great day of discovering today.... very little creating finished products.... but we still felt a sense of achievement.

Flicking thru a magazine we found a card with a baby carriage similar to this one, so set about making a cutting file for ourselves......

During this process I was showing Penny how to change the blade in my gazelle ( as she now has a precious pink bundle too ) and found a small spiral of paper in my blade holder..... man what a difference a new blade and that nasty scrap of paper gone makes to the cutters abilities.... have I mentioned I love my cutter lately?

Any way...... our cutting file, the Swiss Dots cutllebug embossing folder, Martha Stewart floral vine deep edge punch, some inks....

oh.....

and the hat pin - saw some lovely ones in a magazine .... then priced them... ouch.... now who was it that had the bright idea of making our own...? That's right it was Penny..... so we started our day at the junk shop to invest in the makings of these hat pins... must say though, they were easy to make and very cheap in comparison to buying them ready made....

I was determined to finish this card tonight as Pen wanted to take photos earlier but I wanted to put on the ribbon first. So after a very long, & very informative open night at a trade training centre we hope to send our eldest boy to next year, I have it finished and now posted...... can sleep now without getting into trouble for not doing it....

Instead of using the designed 2 delight image as my focal point I wanted to try something different....

so I have printed it in different sizes as a background paper...

then used my gazelle to do the slots in the back layer...(thanks hubby - he wanted me to do something a bit more modern and contemporary than I normaly do).

I am all for quick pages that have a great effect...

just add a little colour and some flourishes cut on my precious gazelle and there we have it...

I really don't think anyone was having a good time.... do you?

I am loving layout sketches for ideas... it really helps get the photos on pages without too much drama.

This was my result from our "Kaszazz" layout - I think our were just as good as the one in the book, and we had to work a lot harder to get it.

And finally... today effort...

at least we got Penny's machine to cut something today without it mucking it up...

seems everything she tried to cut other than these simple little shapes didn't work out.... bugger...

While I havn't posted for a while I have still managed time to make a few cards....

These first two are sympathy cards that a couple of people asked me to make for them...

I used a my nestability for the cross, and added the colour on the embossing...

for the mount mat I used my new Nellies multi frames.....(similar to nestabilities) and my prized martha Stewart punch for the corner...

Same for the next one minus the corner punch....

These are some of the male birthday cards that I make in batches of 20 or 30 for clients at work..

Never again will I subject myself to this much effort for big batches of cards.... SOOOO MUCH STICKING DOWN...

LOVED this one... it was so quick and easy but I think very effective...

This one too was quick and easy.. run the background thru the cuttlebug add a stamp or two a little colour around the edges and hey presto... all done

And these two are birthday cards for friends who recently got a little older....

so of course we both had to give it a go...

Well tomorrow my gorgeous little man has his naming day.... oh man what do you do for a naming day card...?

hhmmmm....lots of looking.... lots of thinking.... and I decided to make it like a baptism card still, cause essentially that is what the day is about....... and Aunty Deby is his Godmother afterall.
The corners and the cross I cut on my wonderfull gazelle, and then put thru an embossing folder.
Lots of layers, lots of smudging with ink a few brads, and a few blingy bits.... and whalla, all done!

The digital image Teapot Cheer provided by designed 2 delight for the challenge this week made me think, (it hurt too) and as usual I could not decide what to do with it .... so I did 2 cards.

I am still loving the prisma pencils, and got to use my new Martha Stewart around the page double loop punch..... but I must remember to read the labels on my pens before I use them in future, 'cause the writing from a glue pen turns out nothing like a white sakura or glaze pen...."grin"

I needed to "DO" this afternoon,

so I asked Pen to find me a card challenge... she seems to have a knack at finding interesting ones...

Not sure if its quite right, the images in my head don't really match what my eyes are now seeing.

& AI Factory challenges - HEARTS...... i had fun punching different size hearts from some stamped images and getting them all to line up again as I layered them.

Have never really done any of the dangly bits before either, so this one I have started to think outside the square!

I Like Colouring in After All

I spent a relaxing afternoon in the Mountains with my good friend trying out her prismas pencils to colour digital images.... and decided that i do like to colour afterall.... its just a case of finding the right medium for the project and you.

This is my efforts for today. I have used the digital image for this week from designed2delight. Am also getting to use my (or in todays case Pennys) cuttlebug with nestabilities - I really love the effects you can get from the various plates.

My First Card Challange

Last night I decided to make a card to enter in a challenge that Penny has linked to her blog.

The challenge was to use this digi stamp of two owls from Delightful Inspiration..... I have decided that I am really no good at colouring printed images. The bottom card I did last night, have coloured 3 or 4 images beforeI got one that I was semi happy with.

Then it played on my mind all night so I tried again this morning using a bigger version of the image..... again many images were coloured using various methods & mediums until this one satisfied me.

Now just to figure out how to link it to the challenge blog - this in itself will be a challenge..... I can see a phone call to Pen in the near future.... hehehe.!

A Visit from the Stork!

This is the card i made for the arrival of my darling little nephew...

i saw a sketch of one similar on a web page somewhere a while back and made a quick note of it in my ever growing pile of sketch papers....

i endeavoured to cut it all by hand and then decided to make a cutting file for my gazelle in the end...

must admit i was proud of this one in the end... suppose it might have been cause it was made with heaps of excitement and lots of love....
And this is the little treasure... he is about 2 weeks old here.
Archer has us all wrapped around his little finger... especially his 6'3" father...

I have been doing some Kaszazz workshops with my great friend Penny...... some using just their designs and some using both the designs and papers and stamps etc....

These are some of the dancing princesses ( and prince) having a great night centre stage.

the one on the far right is Pen's youngest sweetheart.

It never ceases to amaze me what you can do on a computer... oh to have the programs and even more so the knowledge and know how to use them... Playing around with a couple of programs -(don't ask me which ones or how I did it, cause I now can't remember) I managed to take Mum & Dad from 2 different photos and blend them into one. My brother Scott and his wife Nicole I just cropped them and blurred the background.

What would life be without friends?

The first 2 couples - Martin & Julie Schneider, and Faith & Ziad Ghanem we have known for many years, dont see each other much, but the frienshipstill hangs around. The 3rd couple Gail & Fernando Moreno are newly acquired friends found thru our middle son - they were the coach and manager of his footy team.

AAAAHHHHH Ray.....

Ray seems to be everywhere..... and lovin it. Ray Kool and his wife Fiona used to live in the house across from us, but funnily we meet thru work as Ray is a computer fixit man, he and David have become quite good friends over the years. This layout nearly drove me demented...yes Pen I know....already there..... beacuse the waves were cut freehand i managed to get one or two of them different sizes but didn't realise until they were all stuck down, and because the waves didn't match I wasn't happy so up it all came again to be trimmed and then restuck.

After many years of waiting my brother and his wife are expecting...
This is the card that i made for Nicole's baby shower.... the booties were cut on the Gazelle from an image i liked and boggied up a cutting file.

And the pressie was this nappy box that keeps your disposable nappies with easy access.
I originally bought it many years ago to paint up for my youngest son, but decided to put it away for the the first neice/nephew.... didn't know I would be storing it for sooooo long though. Any way I think it painted up quite well, if I do say so myself.

This layout is one of the kaszazz workshops that I am doing with Pen, of course it had to be done in purple though.

Who says true love can't be found on the internet????? Well friendship anyway. I met Penny through an online craft group, when we discovered we lived not far from each other we meet and found that we have a lot in common which lead to a great friendship. Oh, the old man with her is her really quiet young hubby David - think he was feeling a bit off colour that night.

..... MY FAMILY ....

This is the first page that i did while we were at craft camp a couple of weeks ago.
I used a clock file for my gazelle that Alisa designed and thoughtfully gave to our group to use, it turned out really well.... actually got lots of comments from fellow campers..... The butterfly is cut and embossed using the cuttlebug, some lace and ribbon down the side, and the lettering cut on the gazelle.

I discovered at a later date that there were not many photos of my boys taken that night ( I think they were actually having fun and somehow keeping out of trouble at the same time as avoiding the camera). There was also none taken of us as a family which i would have really liked, but alas there's not...... so these are what I have of my "darling little angels".

I have sanded back the edges of these photos and them gone over them with some inks

The Cake was massive, when i ordered it they said it would serve about 70... so having around 120 expected guests I thought it would be just right.... wrong.... there was soooooo much cake left, i gave heaps away and the kids stopped eating it after about 4 days of getting it for morning teas. Oh, of course my husband had to help cut the cake, must have thought I was tooooo old now to do it alone.
I just love my gazelle (when it's working properly that is). The flourish and the balloons have both been cut using it and just finished off with inks and bling.

It just goes to show that there are no secrets between good friends....
while flicking through the photos taken the night before imagine my surprise at finding a photo of someones boobs......OMG...... after going back and scrutinising each photo to see who they belonged to we were still none the wiser.... no-one had on a 'rust' coloured top.
It wasn't till a few days later while showing Penny the photos that the giggling Gertie behind me claimed ownership and the mystery was solved.
Now how to do this page...?????
It took a lot a thinking and fiddling before it came together, I almost threw in the towel on this one. I used the cherry blossom rollergraph down the side and embossed it in black then added the bling, the butterfly is from a great background paper with them in different sizes - just cut out and glitzed up a bit. Now the bra....getting the lace and ribbon to sit in just the right position to make it look realistic took some doing but I think it was worth it in the end.

A Rare Moment in Time... good friends Scott and Mel have been around since we were both pregnant with our first child. Mel and I have gone thru various crafting 'fads' together starting with folk art, skipped over thru the beading/jewellery making really quickly and have been doing the paper craft bit for a while now.
Still lovin my gazelle the doily and lettering were both done with it, and inked up to the colours I wanted, the photo mounting is mulberry paper, and i rolled the edge of the photo, just to be different.

Debbie is not just a great friend but also our much valued receptionist/secretary/all rounder (just not in sales)..... a great photo of her and husband Graeme.
I got to play with Penny's Martha Stewart doily lace edge punch on this page... needless to say i now have to have one.

This is Kate and her boyfriend Adrian. Kate is one of our sales team, and i think she liked the purple slushy that was on offer that night, hey blue!

the border is another Martha Stewart lace edge punch, aren't they just magic?
